Associate's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or closely-related field from a recognized university or college is required. Bachelor's degree in similar field preferred. Fours years of progressive work experience in coding, pre-registration, registration, patient financial services or similar field required. Two years supervisory experience in defined fields preferred. Additional years of work experience in an area listed may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year for year basis. Good communications skills, both oral and written. Good interpersonal skills, including tact and sensitivity in stressful situations. Good supervisory skills, including ability to motivate, develop and train staff. Ability to make decisions and follows through with assignments. Computer literate, with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and related software and ability to learn new programs. Responsible for providing direct supervision to the Outpatient Verification team. Ensuring adequate staffing and appropriate training of all staff. Maintaining quality and productivity requirements as outlined in the position performance expectations through use of the INTRAC tools.
