RESPONSIBLE FOR: Coordinating the delivery of quality clinical nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Providing clinical care, as needed. Serving as a liaison for patients, visitors, families, physicians, other Piedmont Hospital departments and external ancillary services. Communicating patient care, departmental and staff issues to the appropriate authority. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the state of Georgia. Two years nursing experience in clinical practice with demonstrated clinical competency, leadership qualities, effective communication skills and ability to use initiative and exercise independent judgement. Skilled in triage processes. Able to perform under changing and stressful circumstances. Current BCLS and ACLS certification. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Coordinates patient care for unit. 2. Manages human resources. 3. Provide clinical care, as needed. 4. Manages resources. 5. Attends staff meetings as required by department. 6. Participates in periodic review of quality and appropriateness of patient care, (PI). 7. Assumes responsibility for maintaining own current and complete competency file. 8. Compiles and analyzes patient data. (if applicable.) 9. Develops plan of care. (if applicable.) 10. Implements interventions. (if applicable.) 11. Appropriately evaluates developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and providing education for clients of various age groups. (if applicable.) |
