Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or MA diploma with at least 3 years primary care/internal medicine office experience with a very strong clinical background, preferably including phone triage responsibilities, to support a busy physician in the PPG/Marietta office: Internal Medicine located in Kennesaw. Performs a variety of clinical duties at the direction of the physician. Ability to perform all clinical duties associated with the Back Office, including but not limited to: Escorting patients to exam rooms; obtaining vital signs and other pertinent patient history; explaining procedures to patients; stocking/preparing exam rooms; performing EKG's, Spirometry, injections, and assisting the physician with other office procedures. Proficient phlebotomy /venipuncture skills required. Follows universal precautions at all times. Also responsible for phone/office triage; requires call-backs to patients, pharmacies and providing information on lab results. Triage incoming telephone calls; responds to questions regarding medications and treatment instruction; coordinates phone requests to refill prescriptions in accordance with physician's directions and protocols. Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in Back Office duties. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. Team player who is open to change and flexible to cover others when needed with the ability to multi-task. Computer literacy is a must. NextGen and/or EMR experience a huge plus.
