Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or MA diploma with at least 3 years of Family practice experience with a strong clinical background to support a multi-provider Family practice located on at the Brookhaven location in Atlanta, GA.  Performs a variety of clinical and non-clinical duties in accordance with established standards and practices.  Performs a variety of patient communication activities.  Primary focus will be examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician by performing the following clinical duties:  Rooms patients; escorting patients to exam rooms; obtaining vital signs and other pertinent patient history; explaining procedures to patients. Responsible for cleaning, stocking/preparing exam rooms. Perform venipuncture, injections, EKG's, and spirometry. Follows universal precautions at all times. May also fill in for Front Desk and/or phone/office triage, referrals, and scheduling; requires call-backs to patients, pharmacies and providing information on lab results. May triage incoming telephone calls; respond to questions regarding medications and treatment instruction; coordinates phone requests to refill prescriptions in accordance with physician's directions and protocols. Must have excellent customer service, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills and professional demeanor. Clear speaking voice. Must be a team player and pay attention to details and have the ability to multi-task. Must be computer literate. Familiarity with NextGen and/or EMR a plus.
